In a world revolutionised, and in some ways destroyed, by social media optimised to retain our attention at all costs, skillNet aims to pioneer and ride the wave of the new generation of "good social media", that which is optimised for productivity, collaboration and personal growth, all while still retaining the engaging structure & science of attention optimisation. We are not just a habit tracker, or a skill database for creators & users, or another social media platform. At skillNet, we are shaped and guided by our fundamental core values. We understand the sensitivity of the human mind to digital stimuli and vow never to sacrifice positive (productive, personal & community) growth for attention retention.
Furthermore, we promise to maintain individual and collective freedom & security through cryptographic and end-to-end encrypted privacy & anonimity on all levels, from identity to currency exchange. Through this economic and socio-political structure we aim to provide a platform for global users to learn & collaborate in putting theory into practice on their growth journey every step of the way, and creators to monetise their skills and become free financially; that is, by location & time and ideally from the involuntary burden of tax.
Finally, we aspire to create the world Mark Zuckerberg described in his 2017 "Building Global community" but did not achieve. We recognise the global need now more than ever to establish a global community online with the power to collectively choose its own destiny: voluntarily admitted self-governing communities united by common values and interests. Can we achieve the world we envision and begin the global transition from nation states to the formation of the first virtual network state that has collective moral innovation, consensus, its own decentralised currency and enough population & crowdfunded real estate territories to attain a measure of diplomatic recognition?
